A fringe benefit of living in LA is having the ability to go on a gorgeous morning hike up in the mountains and then go soak up some sunshine at the beach later that day. Lately, I'm finding it especially difficult for me not to spend every free moment of my time outdoors because the weather has just been so perfect!

There's not much to complain about in good ol' beautiful California right now. The worst weather we've had lately was heavy rain, thunder, and lightening....for 10 whole minutes a few days ago.  When Mother Nature decided she was over that raging storm, she instantly gave us back our beautiful sunshiny weather. So if you're miserable wherever you are in the world, start making your way to SoCal and you won't regret it. It's definitely the perfect getaway destination from your snow filled winter!

I kept things loose and relaxed this weekend with some languid fabrics and relaxed tailoring. This unfortunately was not by choice lol. I was in need of something with a little extra room around the waist as a result of my Christmas Eve and Christmas Day binge eating. Plus, I'm totally guilty of overindulging in pastries, chocolates, cookies, pies, and much much more. 

Luckily, I had rediscovered the beauty of drawstring pants (the ultimate quick fix for avoiding your weight gain)! They love me no matter what size I am, which is just what I need during the holiday season! Now that it's almost the new year, it's time for me to bounce back and start working out again. You know...so the rest of my clothes can love me too!!!

One of the best things about living in Southern California is the short drive to the beach. When the weather gets unbearably hot (like this past week), it's nice to have the option to escape and head to the beach for a few hours.

Eddie and I are certainly guilty of not taking advantage of the beach enough over the past year or so because of our conflicting work schedules...but no work on the weekend means seizing the day and spending quality time together in the beautiful outdoors. I simply whipped up some caprese pasta salad, sliced up some watermelon for our picnic, and off we went to Point Mugu State Park for some fun in the sun.

Holey Moley

There's nothing like taking a relaxing stroll around my favorite flea market on a Sunday afternoon to wind down this crazy weekend. As always, I walked away with some awesome finds including the deer antlers pictured below to decorate my room, some more succulents to add to my home, and some other small knick knacks that I thought were cute.
