China Doll

Tunic Dress: 3J Workshop by Johnny Was 'Randal Formal Tunic' (here for $236)
Booties: Sam Edelman 'Landon Harness' (now on sale from $170 to $136 here)
Necklace: Vanessa Mooney 'Azaria Teardrop Necklace'
Wearing a tunic as a dress is kinda acceptable when the weather is over 95 degrees and you're short like me...right? Well...I thought so this weekend when I determined that it was just way too hot for clothes (even adorable dresses that look like expensive china sets lol).
I was overheating so I simply layered this cute tunic from Johnny Was over a thin slip and called it a day. Unfortunately, even something as thin and breathable as this "dress" wasn't cooling me down enough and I ended up canceling plans and went swimming with my man instead.

A Peasant Surprise

Leather Jacket: DOMA Leather (here)
Cashmere Sweater: Enza Costa (here)
Maxi Skirt: Daniel Rainn (Nordstrom here)
Booties: Sam Edelman (here)
Versatility is key to a successful wardrobe. It's important to me that I'm able to wear most of my clothes year round (but that's only possible because I live in Southern California where the weather is typically beautiful all year long). I usually try to buy pieces that can be worn simply as is and then creatively layered for the chillier months. That way I can get the most bang for my buck! I mean...if you're going to spend a pretty penny on something, you should be able to wear it more than once a year!

I love to get creative and restyle my spring/summer pieces for fall/winter. And I find that maxi skirts are surprisingly perfect transitional pieces in my closet.

This Daniel Rainn maxi already doubles as a dress so it really is the ultimate versatile piece! During the summers, I'd pull up the skirt to my chest over my bikini and simply belt it for a casual day by the pool or at the beach. For the cooler months, I style it as a skirt with a light cashmere sweater, a leather jacket, and some little booties. If it was colder, I probably would have thrown on some fleece-lined tights for an extra layer of warmth.

Wrap It Up

Milo (my pup) and I took a mini roadtrip up to beautiful Santa Barbara and visited some of my friends that were too in love with SB to leave. They decided to stay put after graduation, which means a free couch to crash on whenever I feel the urge to make a last minute trip up like this lol. We took a trip down memory lane while we admired the magical sunset and picnicked on the beach like the good ol' days.

It's really crazy to think how quickly time passes by. Six whole years ago when my parents and Milo dropped me off at UCSB, we picnicked at this exact spot of Goleta Beach. Oh the memories!!!

Better Late than Never...

So I've been meaning to start a blog for quite some time now, and here I am finally starting my very own FASHION blog!!! I've been telling myself time and time again that I'll start it later when I have more time. After a couple years, I realized that I'm never going to have more time so I finally decided to act on the 2013 New Year's resolution that I made and start up a blog. I know what you're thinking...it's practically June and we're almost done with half the year, but better late than never...right?

About me:
I am just an average girl that loves and appreciates all different types of fashion and style. Because my work doesn't really allow me to express my creative side, I use my personal style as an outlet for my creativity. I am a lover of shoes...especially heels! I don't know what it is but there's just something that gets me so excited when I spot the shoe section of a store or boutique. I can't hold back and instantaneously gravitate towards the shoes. My game plan when I go shopping is...HEAD to HEELS....NOW!!!! lol

I firmly believe that life is just too short to dress boring, so lets get out there and let our inner diva shine!

Below are some of the recent looks I have worn showcasing my outfits from head to heels. Enjoy! And stay tuned for many many more posts to come!
