When it comes to leather/faux leather shorts, I personally like to stick with a classic black style because I know that I'll get the most wear out of them. Leather shorts can be surprisingly versatile, sleek, and edgy.

Styling Tips:

For a more tailored look: I suggest tucking a nice silk or chiffon button down blouse into your shorts and pairing it with some classic pumps. And maybe top off the outfit with a nice tailored blazer for a more polished look. Try a printed blazer for more sass and edge. 

For a sportier look: I suggest tucking your favorite simple plain t-shirt into your shorts, and layering a cute bomber or Letterman jacket over. I would probably pair this outfit with some sleek girlie heels to contrast the sportiness of the look, but I think Converse sneakers would be a great alternative if heels just aren't your thing. 

I kind of did a casual look with some feminine touches for my outfit. I kept it simple with a knit sweater slightly tucked into my shorts, but added some pointed toe pumps and a clutch. If the weather were any cooler, I would have opted for tights under my shorts and a nice thick, chunky knit sweater. How would you girls style your leather shorts?! Feel free to email me and show me! If you still think that bow ties are just for boys, you're wrong! Over the past couple years, bow ties have been making a huge comeback in fashion...especially for women. But this trend is slowly drifting away again. I refuse to let a good thing go so I make it a point to work some bow ties into my outfits every once in awhile.

Since I went through a phase of DIY bow tie making, I just have too many bow ties to not wear. I classed up this outfit with my floral print bow in order to add a touch of femininity to my tailored look. 

Bow ties may be borrowed from the boys but they're oh so right for the girls! So help me bring it back in style, ladies & gents! 

Styling Tip: You can do as I did and add a bow tie to a tailored piece such as trousers or a blazer for a sleek and chic ensemble. For a girlier look, try tucking a blouse into a skirt and accessorizing with a statement bow tie.

Movin' On Up

I am beyond exhausted. I've been packing up and moving things day by day for the past 3 days to the new 4 bedroom house that I had recently purchased. I am soooo excited because I decided to turn the smallest bedroom into my very own walk-in closet!!! So far I'm loving how it looks and I'll definitely be sharing my setup later on the blog when it's complete and looking tidier.

Before I started workin' my bum off during the move, I took an amazingly relaxing vacation to Sequoia National Park. I spent my days hiking and exploring with my man, which I'll be sure to post more about in the upcoming blog posts. 

By the way I'm sorry for neglecting the blog...I had absolutely no service out in Sequoia and I jumped right into moving when I came back to civilization lol. Once things start to settle down for me, I'll be back to posting more regularly. Also, I'm posting this through my Blogger app on my iPhone because my Internet still isn't set up yet (so things may look a little funky haha).
